No, there are no set deadlines, yet! I'll prepare a new deadline list this coming week!
  2.
Is there a Challenge 20? The reason I am asking this is because I want to start a challenge 20 because I already did the ones from the above list that I wanted to do up to challenge 19. If you have anything that I could do for challenge 20 please let me know or I will think of something thanks!

You can start working on any of the challenges now! Some people have already created scrapblogs for each challenge list above... if you'd like to take a look at what has already been created, simply type the appropriate "challengeXX" in the tag search field...

For instance, to see all of the submissions for Challenge 17, type:

    challenge17

in the tag search field. Be sure to omit all spaces... spaces don't work in tags, at all!

Yes, I'll post the deadlines here... The deadline for the 12th challenge is December 12th, so you still have plenty of time! If you have more than one favorite color, feel free to make additional scrapblogs between now and the deadline! :)

If your challenges are not showing up in the lineup, check your TAGS... chances are the tag was typed incorrectly. Remember to omit spaces; spaces are NOT recognized!

To start a new challenge all you'll need to do is add a new thread under the Challenge category in this FORUM, to gather up some interest and to start a discussion. You could also create a scrapblog outlining your challenge idea and/or invite your friends by leaving them a comment explaining the challenge... these are just a few ideas!

The voting for challenge 12 has gone a bit doolally. I think were all being a little silly with our voting. There are just a handfull of us that vote for the challenges, this way we are biased because we tend to vote for our friends.
It would be ideal If there was a section on the opening page saying vote for challenge **
and about forthcoming challenges. This way more votes would be casted, and people who don't visit the forum would be aware of the challenges and voting. And votes wouldn't be biased. This way a real winner might be picked!

I love the idea of announcing the voting process on Scrapblog's opening page! This will need to be presented to the Scrapblog team, since it's under their control...

As far as voting goes, I've opened a new thread where we can discuss the voting parameters. I personally don't have a problem with choosing one, two or even three scrapblogs... sometimes it's really hard to select just one!

Also, I can understand wanting to select your best friend's scrapblog over all others... maybe we should try harder to focus on the content/message... this is what the people at Scrapblog seem to do and why their votes seem to level out our votes.
    • CommentAuthornarlah
    • CommentTimeDec 12th 2008

I don't personally vote for my friends, the content, design, colour, setup and descriptions that appeal to me is what I vote on. The way it is set up I don't know who belongs to what until it is opened up, and it is that one that I have opened that I will vote for. (If this makes any sence) I am sure a majority of us out there do exactly the same. May the best scrapper "win".
  6.
    Just one more comment...and idea....~~

I agree with Annie that I believe most of us vote for the scrapblogs that they like rather than those of their friends. But maybe if somehow, say, the top 10 could be narrowed down, then it would be easier for everyone on Scrapblog to vote for the "best".

With so many entries, it's mind-boggling to view them all and then actually choose.

How do you narrow it down??....I'm not sure!! Have to think about that!
  7.
I want everyone to know that I voted for a lot of other scrapblogs besides my own! I feel that why can't we vote for our own, after all, they're in the challenge as well as everyone else's! We also know the work & everything that went into our own scrapblogs cause we created them! I just feel that a lot of Scrapbloggers don't get their notifications or they don't come here in the forum for whatever reason & it's very hard for a lot of them to keep track of the challenges! Take for instance me, I had lost total power last Thurs. night due to a massive ice storm in our area & just got my power back 2 hours ago, so I wasn't able to do anything here for 4 days! I don't even know who did what, never mind who won challenge 12! I have lots of things to get caught up on here! It would be very nice if Scrapblog could come up with some way to inform us on our profiles about the pending challenges! Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful to have Scrapblog! In fact, I love Scrapblog! I just want to help try to make it better! Let me know what you all think! I would appreciate it very much!

I mentioned this in another thread... what do you all think about using the content already available here on Scrapblog to come up with a new theme, as a challenge? We already have oodles of stickers and backgrounds at our fingertips... I think it would be fun to use them and mix them up into new themes! What do you all think??? :)

I think it will be fun too, we just have to spread the word because not everyone comes to the forum.

I think that is a cute idea! You little_m would be great at that, I think your Marie Antoinette blog fits the bill perfectly!! :)
  9.
I'm new here and would like to join in on some of the challanges. Is there a current challange or do I go through all the older ones? Maybe a new theme could be new beginnings. That could mean a "New" year, baby, house, married life etc. Just let me know what challange is going on and I'd love to join in.

Hello momto2cherubs (love your user name, btw!)...

This is the list of future challenges: deadlines pending

Be sure to add the appropriate "tag" to your entries. For instance, tag your submission for challenge 13 as follows:

    challenge13 (no spaces)

Challenge 13: Scrap your favorite retreat (favorite place to relax and get away from it all)
Challenge 14: Scrap your favorite photographer or photos (can focus on one photographer, or several, or photo theme, or genre of photos, or photographic applications... no rules!)
Challenge 15: Scrap your favorite childhood memory
Challenge 16: Scrap your favorite main dish with recipe (breakfast, lunch or dinner)
Challenge 17: Create a vintage scrapblog using old family photos
Challenge 18: Create a fantasy/magical scrapblog using angels, elves, leprechauns, unicorns or faeries (or anything else you'd like to use)
Challenge 19: Create a "self-portrait" by telling us about yourself... This challenge is not necessarily about just photo portraits. This is your chance to show us what you're all about in a more creative manner! Some ideas would be to make a "Scrapblog Profile" by showing us some of the pages from your existing scrapblogs! Hello aynzan!

We're currently on challenge 13... and the challenges will be done on a monthly basis from now on, so challenge 19 won't be due until this coming summer, possibly? I'm thinking around July? You'll have plenty of time to prepare a scrapblog, I think! Scrapblogs for these challenges can be any length; one page to 100+ pages! Can't wait to see your creation!

Thanks so much for your response little_m. Can't wait to see what people come up with. To see everyone who did it do I just type in challenge13 in the search tag section? Told you I'm new. LOL
