Oh, along the blog line...Instead, maybe there could be a list of blogs we post by Month much like the archives on regular blogs - posted at the side so people could toggle maybe something that says October 2008 to see what kind of stuff a person was doing around Halloween or say they remember someone doing something in the summer, but don't want to wade through all 150 of their scrapblogs, they could click through their archive list that is off to the side on a persons home page. Just a thought.
also, something that I experience and really errmm...annoys me when in the explore pages is that one cannot know who is the author of the SB on the most love or most viewed... it says the name of the SB ... there are some people I am just not interested, or even one finds that one gets caught onto the discovering more people we like their work, and then add them to friends to follow what they do...and then the time is gone...(this may not make sense to you, my brain isnt working all that good tonight) it would be nice to know who's SB is from the explore pages...
I understand and agree with Mrs. Peel. I think it would be better to make the little "flyover" show the author than the # of pages it contains. What do you think?
I agree with the "flyover" too, that would be nice even thought I sometimes like too guess by the style of it who made it, most of the time I guess correctly. lol
To MommyVictory: about your other posts talking about choosing your post/publish date. Well, when your scrapblog is in an order you dont like, you can set the desired scrapblog to private and publish it. Create a new scrapblog, choose the "add a page from my scrapblogs" option and publish it again. It will place it on top and let it be your newest creation. (it wont have your picture, stickers, or backgrounds in the tray, but it a way to place it on top. dont forget to delete the old one you took the pages from)
I don't want to have to do that. It's too much work AND the last time I deleted the original scrapblog of a copied scrapblog the pictures all disappeared in the copy.
The real reason I came here was about private scrapblogs...Now that I am finally getting my notifications!!! Yay!!!
I was wondering if we could NOT get notifications about private scrapblogs. Sometimes someone publishes something that is meant only for invited people, but it shows up in our email notifications and we click on the link only for it to tell us it isn't open for public viewing...What a bummer :-(
1) Gift credits. I have a lot of close friends who scrapblog, but they live too far away from me for it to be easy (or cost effective) to send them a gift at the holidays (shipping reasons... international friends, as well as domestic ones). They're TOTALLY Addicted to scrapblog and I'd love it if I had the option of giving them scrapblog credits for premium content, or even like... a virtual gift card to get a book printed! It would be a nice way to show them I love them, without having to pay for all sorts of shipping to get them anything.
2) A way of sorting my photos! I know you said NOT builder... but come on, this is important!
3) A way of sorting scrapblogs into folders
4) "Top friends" feature on the profile, or something similar... I have some friends that I visit a lot more frequently than others.
Hi y'all... first time forum poster here, but is there or I'd like to see a way to have a way to mark "favorite" stickers. I'm finding that I like to use several stickers on multiple scrapblogs and then there's stickers I have no interest in using at all. It can take forever to find them again, when I could have a spot of "most used" or favorite stickers of my own, not necessarily everyone's popular ones.
Hey Laura, Welcome to the Forum. A way you can mark your favorite stickers is by tagging them with a special name to eliminate the others and find your faves.
Hello mikegee, I know this isn't about the builder but..... is it possible to have some kind of a time set on each page of the sb, so that there is a time delay on each page. This way we can still enjoy the music as we read the journalling on the pages. Now when there is a lot of written work on an sb, I have to view it by clicking each page seperately, that takes away the music. Thanks X
So I have not had a chance to read others, but a few things I would love. 1. The ability to reorder pages by just clicking on the pages at the bottom of the screen and dragging and dropping 2. The ability to organize my stickers within a scrapblog, like put them in folders. Much easier to scroll through and find what you need
oh, one more thing. What if we had the option that as soon as you used a picture on a page it disappears from the photo's available on the left side of the screen. Then if you delete it from the page it goes back into your available photos.
lipseys90, You can do that with your photos now! I am working on a very big book right now, I've been attacking one section at a time. When I have used a photo I click on the "trash barrel" and it goes back to it's original spot in my available photos page.
you are kidding... can you delete the photo in the left hand side of the builder without it disapearing from the SB you are working on? that would make my life so, so much easier!!!
I didn't know that either! I always thought that if you deleted anything in your tray that it would disappear out of the SB! LOL! You learn something new everyday! Thanks Bev! That's a great tip to know!
When you delete a photo from your tray, the photo is not deleted and will not disappear from your Scrapblog. You will just have to go back to your photo library and add it again if you delete it from a page and wish to add it back. Hope this helps! -Meg Customer Service Manager @ Scrapblog
Wanted to add that it would be great if we could perhaps order which scrapbooks are on the first page and such. I am not sure how it works now, does it work where the most recently updated are at the top?
I would like the bugs to be fixed before you continue to improve this great site. I spent many hours, weeks, months completing my scrapblog, just to find it took many tedious hours to try to get it to publish. Once published, I couldn't export to jpeg. I copied a couple of pages to a new scrapblog and then they would export to jpeg. However, now the exported pages are such poor resolution they are unusable. Before I started to make the scrapblog, I did a trial to see if it would do what I was hoping and it did. In my trial run, the pages exported at a resolution that could be used. What happened? Did SB change this and make the exported jpegs an inferior resolution? Am I just too much of a newbie to know how to do this correctly? I love this site, but if I can't do what I want with the completed product, it is frustrating. I would like to be able to export to jpeg at a good resolution. That would make be so excited! Thank you for your site and thank you for soliciting our hopes and suggestions!
J. Luck, thanks for your answer and not sure if I am misunderstanding you, but I don't mean the actual scrapblog pages, but the books on our profile. Some of my scrapblogs are ones I prefer more than others, and I'd like them to be seen first if you know what I mean, by being in the first page instead of the third, etc. Just wondering if the order is set by new scrapbooks created, or by the ones most favorited, or the ones most recently updated, etc..
Thats what I meant and thought you were talking ablot. When I first joined in Aug. 2008, when you edited a scrapblog, it would also update on your page and bring it foward, but now when you edit a previously published scrapblog, it just keeps it in the place you started and publised it in.
I really do understand what you mean and Im making it more complicated than it should be. lol I understand how you want your "more liked" scrapblogs ahead of the others on your page.
sorry for the miscommunication, but for right now you can not do that.
In summary, can we say that: 1)users cannot re-organize the order of the published SBlogs; 2)the only order is by date of publishing. 3)SBlogs recently edited/updated stay in the original place; 3)SBlogs which are more "loved" stay in their original place;
"A YEAR OF REGAN" soooooo SAD I worked sooo hard on this for a gift to my best friends little boy for his first birthday and I cant make it an album because scrapblog doesnt deliver to canada.. Any tips anybody ???? please can you deliver to canada...pretty please..if so... I would love to print more albums...
1. Be able to re-order scrapblogs. 2. In "themes" where it says view all sticker or backgrounds, I would like to be able to pick individual stickers and backgrounds and have them go to my tray instead of have the whole page be added to my scrapblog, like it used to be. 3. More Font Styles and things to do with font, shadows, embossing, and you know how when you scroll over the text or a sticker it glows orange? That would be a cool effect. The shadow somewhat does it, but it's just not as cool. 4. More picture editing effects. 5. Instead of being notified in my email about comments, and new publishes it would be great if when we logged in there could be a little notification table. Kind of like myspace and facebook does when people edit/update information and pictures?? It's difficult going through so many emails at the end of the day!
1. I would like to be able to tag stickers while they are in the our tray if that's possible. Sometimes I find something I like add it to my tray and then want to tag it. God forbid I forget how I searched for it in the first place because sometimes I will never find them again! lol
Tagging stickers in the tray would be great, I second or third or fourth that!
Being able to 'flip' a background would be great be awesome. Being able to adjust the opacity on a background could be useful. It would seem like either might not be too be a deal since it's set up to be able to do that on stickers and photos.
When you are cropping a photo...with the eraser freehand style...then if you go back to your page and for some reason have to 'flip' the photo, the free hand crop is not flipped with it. Is there a way to not have to go back and totally start over on the freehand crop that you did? That would be nice. I guess I'm just not organized enough on my design thoughts to be able to think that many steps in advance! LOL -donna
Oh and I forgot one!!!! How about the ability to make text 'transparent", like being able to have an opacity button for text, I mean! Now that would be cool. donna
It would be SO nice to have a reply button - it would make conversations so much easier! I like being able to say "thanks" or ask & answer questions, but it's difficult to keep up by sifting through comments or going back & forth between each other's pages. A reply button would be GREAT!
Hi MikeGee - thanks for asking! I agree with many comments here, but as you're asking specifically about the webpage rather than the builder, here are my suggestions:
- organize scrapblogs on your page (order, folders) - confirm friends before they follow you - organize friends - fullscreen viewer "Back" link color a bit easier to see - not enough contrast against black background - email notifications reduced - I get a notification for every time I have posted on a sb, so if I post twice, and someone new posts, I get 2 notifications for that single post (btw, thanks for fixing the notifications on private sbs that you're not invited to) - browse themes and other content without launching the browser (if this is currently available, I don't know where to find it, maybe more prominent?) - consolidate printing selections to a single order (if you want 1 card of each single page in your scrapblog, you have to place a separate order for each card) - more printing options - love the DVD idea, front & back single sheet card idea, single-sided cards (not postcard-backed) would also be cool, maybe stickers? :) I'm sure you creative geniouses will come up with great things - less expensive shipping - $6 for a single card is hard to swallow... - search result sorting - publish/update date, user, popularity/love, number of scrapblogs by user in the people search, etc. - maybe categories? that would be awesome
That's probably plenty for now hehehe :)
Just have to say I am totally in love with your site & really appreciate all your hard work. I am thankful that you are committed to continuing to make it better!
Hi everyone I haven't had as much chance to look round as some as despite joining months ago today is my first proper use.
The first thing i did notice was that finding this forum was quite difficult in fact I would have no idea it even existed had it not being for an article, somewhere buried at the bottom of the page was the link and I just think that it would be helpful to make it more obvious.
Meg, there is an option under "My Account", click on the "Email Settings" tab and then you can uncheck the one to notify you if someone comments where you have commented. Hope this helps.... Sally
Hi Sally, I actually like to know when someone else has commented, I'd just rather not get 1 email for every time I've commented on the same sb. So if I comment 3 times on the discussion over time, and then someone new comments, I get 3 messages regarding that one new comment. I'd rather just get one message :) Thanks for the tip though! :) Meg
I LOVE some of the suggestions Meg has put here. Especially about the printing.... If you guys could find the way to shop for printing as in *add to cart* and then pay for the delivery all together...that would be great. The way it's now, I m paying delivery within the US in EACH book, and then I pay the international.....and I would love to be able to make cards....lots all together works for Xmas, but when one likes to make it a bit more personalized.... maybe finding a way to do all the shopping as adding to the bill and have prices set by amount of books, or cards done?
all she has asked for is great, but I insist, something that (cannot be that difficult, me thinks?) is REALLY needed is that little REPLY button :)
Just joined the forum and have read this and related threads. There have been many good suggestions and here are some more: 1) Members are concerned about "ghosts" so in order to help the SB team root out these lurkers, would it be possible to include under the "Flag as offensive" link a link which would allow us to report a suspected ghost? 2) Perhaps we need to have an honor code or something similar when one registers for a SB account which states that their account will be terminated if they do not follow the code. The code could include such agreements as "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything i.e. no rude comments"; "you must fill out your bio page within X amounnt of time from you registering with SB"; "you must publish a SB within X amount of time from you registering with SB"; and other such agreements that would discourage lurkers. 3) Add to the publishing choices of Public and Private a Semi-private selection that would make the SB only visible to SB Buddies (see number 4 below). 4) We can already keep track of the people that we wish to follow "Friends", what about redesigning that feature as follows: "Work We Admire" - this is where we could keep track of SBs that we've loved and/or commented on; "People That Admire Us" - this is where we can keep track of people that comment and/or love our SBs (this could lead to us making more buddies); "SB Buddies" - this is where the admiration is mutual. There are times when I like to comment on someone's SB to encourage their progress, but I may not wish to Love their work or add them as a friend and it would be nice to still go back and check on their progress from time to time. I also sometimes don't have the time to reply to someone's comment on my SB and then forget to do it latter, so if I could just go to a section on my page where it lists who has commented on what SB I could easily go and make sure I acknowledge everyone's kindness. 5) There are many times that I wish I could Love a SB more than once. Kindof like a rating system where the more hearts would mean the more someone likes a SB. 6) Change things so that someone can't just publish a theme SB as their own. I don't mind if people use the layouts and elements, but they should not be allowed to use the photos in the theme or the text in the theme as their own. Perhaps put something over the text and photos like a watermark. I have actually found SBs under the "recently updated" section, gone in and viewed them and then left comments because I thought the person actually created the SB and used their own photos. I believe that watermarks on the theme photos and text would also help deter ghosts who pretend to publish their own work.
Thanks for all of your hard work and devotion to this awesome site! You guys (and gals) are the BEST!!!
